Honors Drawing
This was by far my favorite class that I was able to take through the interdisciplinary honors program. The opportunity to take a course, completely dedicated to creative expression, was something that I never believed I would be able to do at UW. Having three hour blocks of time, entirely used for drawing, tested my patience, yet proved restorative as well. The techniques we learned were challenging, but taught me to consider how much of what I see is real, versus how much is simply being filled in as an assumption. The techniques that I was most fond of include; using line quality to push and pull objects in space, using one point perspective, and using variations in lightness to add shape to objects. I am very hopeful to continue to pursue drawing in the future, should I come across the opportunity to further develop these skills.
